Bumpy Ride This Week For Stocks!

July 26th, 2007

This week is turning out to be a pretty bad week for the stock markets. Let’s recap some of the issues at hand:

  • A falling US dollar
  • Sub-prime lending woes
  • new home sales down
  • Oil prices ~$75

I will be using this down turn to find great entry points on under-valued stocks and options. We just have to look on the bright side and realize that market corrections occur.

As for My Mutual Fund, many of the stocks I chose are now down 10%! Ouch, bad timing… what are the chances that on the first day you open a new fund, the entire stock market starts a meltdown and you lose 10% on almost all stocks within 4 days? Like I mentioned yesterday, I’m thinking about resetting the Mutual Fund now that I have more information about the diversification rules and I know I set up the fund a bit wrong, plus… I’m way down due to a bad start… But if I start it over again, I’ll feel I’ve cheapened the experiment to ‘cheat’ my way out of some stupid mistakes… I’d rather just ‘tough it out’ and make up for these early losses.
