Genesis Has Begun
July 20th, 2007
The first of My Mutual Fund’s is named Genesis and trades under the symbol GEN
.
I was able to finally log in to my account and fill out the order form. I experienced two problems. The first problem is the company name that comes up when I type in the symbol SLW. It should come up with Silver Wheaton which trades on the NYSE. It instead comes up with the name of St Laurent Paperboard Inc. I don’t know about you, but that sounds a little off. I did check and it comes up with the proper share price. I’ll just assume I’m investing in the proper company and that the feed has the name of SLW wrong. No harm, no foul.
The second problem I found is a little worse. In my last post I stated I wanted to get some shares in BRK-B. Marketocracy does have BKRB listed properly, but the system has the share price at $0 and a message that states it would take too long to acquire and dispose of shares of this company. So I guess I’m not allowed due to liquidity. Damn.
So with 19 orders ready to execute, My Mutual Fund, aptly named Genesis, has begun its investment journey.
