My Hedge Fund: September 2007

Wow, that is all I can say. I did REALLY well this month! Last month I had a return of -1.52%. This month I did a lot better than that. It seems my options strategy is working PERFECTLY. Like I said before, I only wish I had some money to put this portfolio into real life. While my Mutual Fund Portfolio isn’t exactly what I want or like, this Hedge Fund is exactly what I would make in real life if I had the money to start a Hedge Fund. I think it will Kick ASS… I’m very confident in it. I’m not done as I need to invest more with the Canadian funds… but overall I’m very pleased with its composition.

Investment Returns

My initial $100,000 USD was down to $97,485.34 at the end of last month. Today it is at $114,791.27! That is a 17.75% gain in one month for those that are interested. My options strategy works!

My initial $100,000 CND was down to $99,480.01 at the end of last month. Today it is at $100,300.99. That is a 0.83% gain. At first glance you would think I am not doing too well. BUT… I still haven’t invested over half the portfolio… Also, Silver Wheaton is up 18.50% in the last two months. The real reason this portfolio is stagnant is due to Adriana Resources which is down to $0.90 from my initial purchase price of $1.10. I am not worried though as many of the big money players have been doing private placements at $1.10 and these deals are worth millions and the price is jumping around a lot at the moment.

TOTAL RESULT FOR PORTFOLIO

The total gain this month for the portfolio is 9.20%! Not bad for one month.
The total value of the portfolio is $215,092.26 (not counting currency fluctuations), a 7.55% gain since inception (just two months ago).
